Anyone of any ability or age can learn to build a traditional, dry-laid stone wall!  Pictured in the pink hat is Edith Mauch, 9, daughter of Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum board member Jim Mauch.

What a great group of students who worked super hard during the July 25th traditional New England dry laid stone wall seminar held on the grounds of the Eric Sloane Museum.  Instructor Eric Dill is phenomenal. Everyone chipped in to make it a wonderful day of hard work and laughter.  Thank you to everyone who came and made it such a special event!

Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum board members Jim Mauch (left) and Jeff Bischoff (right) show why they should be sitting behind a desk and not performing physical labor.  Other, more intelligent course participants no doubt recognize their poor lifting techniques and general disregard of safety, physics, and common sense in this stunning display.

Thanks to board member Jeff Bischoff for sending this photo of the progress on the stone wall at the Eric Sloane Museum.  The photo shows a nice interplay between the wall commissioned by the Friends of the Eric Sloane Museum, the stone hearth of the Noah Blake cabin, and the Kent Iron Furnace.
